Again: 16 Students will travel to New York City in March 2008. A delegation of students of the University of Duisburg Essen is going to represent the West African country Angola at the upcoming NMUN (National Model United Nations). This marks the third time political science students are attending the largest simulation of the United Nations in the world. The conference itself will take place from 18th until 22nd of March. About 3500 people (almost only students) will get together, for a time period of five days, to act in various committees for the interests of their specific countries they are representing. During the days before the conference, these young people from North Rhine Westphalia will have a lot of interesting interview appointments at embassies and Non-Governmental-Organizations. Expert interviews will be held there to assist the students in preparing for the MUN, and will also give deeper insights in various topics for degree dissertations, bachelor and master thesises. Participation at the DuEMUN was mandatory for our students in order to travel to New York City as well as attending a class, which was specially conceptualized for the NMUN preparation.
