Havard WorldMUN

Havard WorldMUN in Vancouver has come to an end.
We had one week of fruitful discussions, tons of draft resolutions, interesting social events and made some new friends.
But let me start from the beginning:
Right before the conference started we had the opportunity to visit some parts of Vancouver as well as Capilano Suspension Bridge. On the same evening the pre-party started in a club downtown where we met some other delegates. Also this was the first time our whole delegation of ten people was present.
On Sunday the conference started with the opening ceremony at Orpheum Theatre. We heard a lot of speeches and saw amazing perfomances in dancing and singing. Following the Global Village party took place at Science World, there we could taste different food from  all around the world.
The next morning the sessions stated at 9 am sharp. DuEMUN e.V. was present in DISEC, SOCHUM, SSW, WHO, ECOFIN and Legal Committee. The most important thing on this day way setting the agenda, which took some time especially in ECOFIN.
The social event for this evening was the 1920s Cabaret. Delegations danced and showed some outstanding performances.
Tuesday was only a half day of committee sessions because we took off to Whistler, which was a wonderful winter-wonderland. Freezing cold but we tried out the Coca Cola Tube Park and had an amazing view from top of the Blackcomb Mountain.
In the evening we dressed up for the masquerade ball and danced the night away.
Early the next morning we continued discussing at Vancouver Convention Center and tried to solve problems. Again there was a social event in the evening called Woodstock. Dressed up as Hippies we got henna tattoos and tested the oxygen bar.
On Thursday the final day of Havard WorldMUN 2012 was there. Eventhough we tried, not every committe could pass a draft resolution, just like in real world.
The closing ceremony was a beautiful event followed by an impressing show where the Olympic torck was lighted, surrounded by a huge firework. The Farewell Party was just one more thing that made this conference wonderful.

It’s  Friday now and i can say IT’S A WRAP!!!!!!!
Havard WorldMUN was an interesting time & UBC and Havard organized an amazing conference. The city of Vancouver showed us the rainy but also beautiful side and acted perfect as a host to more than 2000 students.

A big thank to my delegation, you made my job very easy (most of the time 🙂  ) and i loved being your head of delegation!!!!!!
