DuEMUN welcomes the first foreign Delegation of 2012

This was our April’s fools for 2012. See you next year at WorldMUN Pyongyang

DuEMUN conferences are regularly visited by delegations from abroad, who bring with them ideas, culture and knowledge to share with their fellow delegates. In order to celebrate the spirit of the United Nations, we have often gone to the far ends of the world to bring together diverse students and educators. With guests from Palestinian Authority controlled areas in the Gaza strip to Egyptian, Afghan, Canadian, Japanese and Chinese groups attending DuEMUN conferences.

This year, for the very first time, students from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea will attend DuEMUN to represent the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan across several committees. The students and their faculty advisers from Kim Il-sung University in Pyongang will also join their fellow students from Germany in a joint programme meant to bridge cultural divides. The programme will include visits to the Ruhr Area’s most famous sights such as Landschaftspark Duisburg, Zeche Zollverein in Bochum as well as visits to Cologne Cathedral, Air Base Geilenkirchen and the state parliament of North-Rhine Westphalia.

We are looking forward to welcoming our far-travelled guests in Duisburg in May. In the meantime we would like to remind our readers that registration for DuEMUN VIII is still in full swing.
