Register Now for DuEMUN 2016

Dear students and prospective delegates,

preparations for this year’s DuEMUN conference are well under way. Date, topic(s) and committee are set and we’re finally  ready for your registrations!

The conference takes place from Monday, June 13 to Friday, June 17, 2016. Keep an eye on on our website and facebook for more information on the schedule and social events.

As 2016 marks the 70th anniversary of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), this year’s DuEMUN will be dedicated to simulating this key organ of the United Nations System.

Since its first meeting in London in 1946 ECOSOC has served as the central platform of the UN for addressing global economic, social and related issues.  At the centre of the UN development system, ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies conduct cutting-edge analysis, agree on global norms and advocate for progress towards collective solutions to advance sustainable development. For its annual theme, ECOSOC will focus in 2016 on “Implementing the post-2015 development agenda: moving from commitments to results“.

Therefore, the issue before “our” ECOSOC this year will be: Post-2015 Development Agenda: Addressing Food Security and Access to Water in Humanitarian Emergency Situations

Through lively and informed debate, exciting social events, and a unique conference spirit, the DuEMUN experience reaches across cultures and borders to inspire both cooperation and friendship.

All participants of DuEMUN XII are required to pay a conference fee of € 65. This fee covers conference materials such as badges and placards, drinks and snacks and parts of the cultural events. Not included are transportation costs, accommodation and other expenses.
